A Weekly Musical Review
A weekly musical review filled with both songs of joy and introspection. A “living room-listening environment” suited for all kinds of music, artists, and listeners. The “message” is the music – ranging from Billy McLaughlin’s expansive catalog of original guitar and vocal compositions to everything from Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Bob Marley, and The Beatles to Sly and the Family Stone.

Adhering to our old-school Midwest supper club values, guests are never rushed.
OUR LISTENING POLICY
Crooners is a listening environment. Because the quality of the shows is very high, and many in our audience are avid music lovers, we support both our guests and our artists by enforcing a “no talking during the show” policy. Michael Monroe, “MN Acoustic Music Master,” (Star Tribune) performs original music on vocals, crystal/bamboo flutes and plays Seaton Guitars from the Gunflint Trail, hand-crafted with 200 year-old wood from the bottom of Lake Superior.
Monroe’s award winning instrumental soundtracks have been featured on PBS/CBC, Toronto Enviro/New York Indie Film Fests in “Chased By The Light”, as well as receiving an Emmy for “Soaring On Mended Wings.”
Monroe returned to the Twin Cities following 28 years on the North Shore of Lake Superior near Grand Marais 11 of which were “off the grid” where he recorded his first 12 albums using solar power He presented Log Cabin Concerts in his cabin for 800 people a year for 17 years which were featured on KSTP’s Jason Davis’ OnTheRoad, in Lake Superior and Cabin Life Magazines. Minnesota’s Peter Mayer has been singing and songwriting full-time for 25 years, performing in venues across the United States and beyond. He writes songs for a small planet–songs about interconnectedness and the human journey–songs about life on earth and the mysterious and wondrous fact of our existence. He also writes songs about dress hats, pumpkins and pajamas, and even love and freight trains just like a good folk musician should. His music has been performed by artists like Kathy Mattea, David Wilcox, Claudia Schmidt, Anne Hills, Priscilla Herdman, Darryl Purpose, Billy Jonas, and Ronny Cox, to name a few. His work has been included in song books, church hymnals, and folk radio playlists across the country. Peter has eleven albums to his credit, and has sold over 100,000 of them.
